The area around St Austell and this south eastern corner of Cornwall is a lovely region. The smaller towns and villages are quite beautiful, and it can seem really peaceful, perhaps because many visitors leave this area of the route as they head for the Atlantic beaches and rugged bays of the south and west.

Project near St Austell has been a huge success.
It is worth checking the website for advice on when to visit it has been
exceptionally busy all year.
Fowey is a busy popular deep water port with extensive facilities for visiting sailors. It is popular with visitors and has lovely small streets and shops to explore. It tends to attract many boats during the summer and the harbour is generally full of activity. The vehicle ferry over the harbour is a popular trip

Polperro, is the trademark Cornish village, Small harbour fishing boats and pubs serving good food.
Looe is another traditional Cornish village with a beautiful harbour, fishing boats and good pubs. The beaches are clean and pleasnt and the whole town is very welcoming.
GardensTrewithen Gardens- between Truro and St Austell. covering some 30 acres and created in the early years of the 20th century, the gardens are outstanding and internationally famous.
